What is Reach?

Reach is the total number of unique people who have seen your content or ad in a given period. Reach differs from impressions: one person can generate several impressions, but counts only once in your reach.

Organic reach versus paid reach

Organic reach is free, but limited by the algorithm. Paid reach through Meta Ads is scalable, but needs budget. In search campaigns (SEA) you look at impression share and impressions rather than reach.

Reach as a KPI

Reach is a branding KPI: it shows how many unique people have seen your message. For conversion campaigns, reach is less relevant than CPA or ROAS. Use reach together with the engagement rate for a full picture of content performance.

Increasing your reach

Invest in strong organic content that sparks engagement. Use hashtags strategically and work with influencers. Paid reach is the fastest and most predictable way to reach a large audience.

What is the difference between reach and views?

Views are the number of times content has been played or viewed, including repeat views. Reach counts unique people only.

How do I measure my total reach across all channels?

Through each platform’s own analytics. A combined overview across channels requires a BI tool or an aggregation tool. More at developers.google.com/search.
